What would our community be like if young people were completely respected? Seen as their unique intelligent selves? Appreciated for their own ideas and interests?

Since 1979, the Philadelphia Community School (PCS) has pursued its goal of supporting families by providing young people and adults with respectful attention and unique opportunities to play and learn. People come to PCS from the Philadelphia region and all over the world to learn to create an environment in which young people grow freely while building a sense of having power over their own lives. PCS programs include parent and toddler classes, after-school family clubs, parent support groups, play days, family and teen workshops, and adult internships.
